Herb Blurb #2 THYME

Herbs are amazing!

My last Herb Blurb was on Lavender (click here to read) and how it’s helped my skin calm down, my muscles relax (Yay for minimized clenching and grinding at night!), and my cortisol to come down (sleep is so sweet!).

This thyme *haha* I wanted to highlight a special herb I’m just in the process of discovering.

THYME

If you’ve been following this blog, you may know that the big thing for 2018 is that I have been finally diagnosed with Chronic Lyme disease. After a few weeks of praying and trying to figure out what treatment plan I should choose, my husband and I decided to go all natural for a while (you can read about that here!).

Thrive Market sells your favorite organic and non-gmo brands for up to 50% off retail.

After much research, we learned that thyme is a natural antibiotic used for fighting all kinds of infections including Lyme. There we had it. It was time to grab some thyme essential oils and diffuse away. Though I have to say I do feel all around better since doing this, I’ve also been making other supplement changes at the same time, so I can’t be 100% sure of this herb’s potency against Lyme.

However…

One thing I CAN be sure of is that it is INCREDIBLE when it comes to gum disease! If you’ve read my previous Herb Blurb on Lavender, you’ll notice that my mouth has been a little under the weather. For the last year, and most noticeably the last few weeks of 2017, I had super sore gums and it felt like quite a few of my teeth were cracked. I couldn’t eat crunchy or chewy things, and I thought my teeth would fall out! I even bit the bullet and used Listerine which makes my tummy hurt, but to no avail.

Well, after reading all this research about thyme, I found that I could add a drop or two of thyme oil to a TBSP of coconut oil *I practice oil pulling almost every day, by the way. So worth it! More on that later*, and swish for 5-20 minutes.

NO JOKE! After the first time doing this, I ate breakfast and FELT NO PAIN. I then flossed my usually super sensitive gums and FELT NO PAIN. The rest is history.

You guys, please please research thyme oil and never use antibiotics or Listerine again! This stuff is amazing.
